Two Lennon & McCartney songs that don’t really hold any interest for songwriters:
Misery was written on a tour bus with the intention of getting Helen Shapiro to record it. Unlikely fare for a singer know for the jaunty “walking back to happiness.”
It’s hard to believe that a ‘paint by numbers’ effort like Thank You, Girl was ever in the running to be a single. The only notable thing is the bridge’s recycling of the Please Please Me verse melody.
