Ticket 22: Bluesify Your Melody

Most people are familiar with the concept of singing notes from the minor pentatonic scale over major chords in a 12 bar blues, but why not do it over non blues structures too? Make your vocal lines spicier by adding the b3, b5 or b7 to major key melodies. Be bold dahling! (If you're struggling to pitch the b5 you might want to try it over a IV7 chord).

Because
Come Together (and here)
Drive My Car
From Me To You
Get Back
Golden Slumbers
Hey Bulldog
Honey Pie
I'm So Tired
Oh! Darling
Old Brown Shoe
One After 909
She Loves You
The Long And Winding Road

You can also hear this in some instrumental sections as well notably Piggies, She Loves You and Yesterday

Also Suffragette City (David Bowie)
